2012 KVF650 4x4i

Nothing beats brute force.

The 2012 KVF650 4x4i combines the 650cc engine from the legendary Brute Force 650 4x4 with the fully-independent suspension chassis of the Brute Force 750 4x4i to provide customers the comfort of independent rear suspension in a more economical package.

Tuned to mimic the 750’s power characteristics, the KVF650 4x4i delivers powerful performance throughout the rpm range. While overall styling is in line with the Brute Force 750 4x4i, the 650 takes on its own character with a unique front guard design.

Rugged Bodywork

The 2012 KVF650 4x4i’s thermoplastic olefin bodywork has a high gloss finish for great looks and is more scratch resistant than polyethylene plastic so it stays looking good longer.

Dual compartments on the front fenders provide convenient storage. Optional storage cylinder at the rear matches the muffer shape for a sporty, balanced appearance.

Variable Torque Front Differential

Operating as a standard limited-slip differential in 4WD mode, a handlebar mounted lever enables manual slippage control to distribute torque evenly to the left and right front wheels for maximum traction in sticky situations.

Dual Front Disc Brakes

Dual 200mm discs with twin piston calipers provide solid stopping power. The discs are recessed within the wheels to help protect them from debris. Calipers are mounted rigidly for better brake feel and control.

Big-Bore V-Twin Grunt

The KVF650 4x4i's proven liquid-cooled, 633 cc SOHC, 4-valve V-twin engine churns out a massive 30.9 kW {42PS} @ 6,500 rpm. The oversquare bore and stroke dimensions contribute to a high torque output and a smooth, user-friendly power curve.

Electrically Selectable 2WD/4WD

Handlebar mounted controls allow you to effortlessly change between 2WD and 4WD with the flick of a switch to instantly adjust to changing terrain and conditions.

Automatic Transmission

The easy-to-operate, smooth-shifting, CVT (Continuous Variable Transmission) transmission features the Kawasaki Automatic Power-Drive System (KAPS) belt-type torque converter to make shifting between high, low and reverse gears a breeze.

Independent Front and Rear Suspension

The KVF650 4x4i uses double wishbone and coil-over-shock absorbers with adjustable preload provide a comfortable ride.

A rear torsion bar helps control body roll.

Sealed Rear Brake System

The KVF650 4x4i multi-disc rear brake system is totally enclosed within the frame-mounted rear gear case.

The system operates in a sealed oil bath so that the brake is unaffected by water, mud, dust and debris. The compact design provides more ground clearance at the rear end.

Digital Meter Unit

Digital speedometer, odometer, twin trip meters, clock, hour meter, fuel gauge is mounted at a steep angle and has a visor to make the meter more visible from the upright seating position.

Snorkel Air Intake

The airbox design provides easy access to simplify maintenance. An oval-type air filter provides large intake area and reduces dust build-up on the filter.

Kawasaki Engine Brake Control

The 2012 KVF650 4x4i employs an advanced, self-adjusting, self-diagnostic system that detects the ATV’s speed and rate of deceleration before gradually engaging the CVT drive pulley to ensure smooth, controlled engine braking.

Heavy Duty Towing and Carrying Capacity

The KVF650 4x4i matches its larger 750cc brother with a massive 120kg combined carrying capacity and, thanks to its sturdy chassis and high-torque engine, boasts an equally impressive 567kg towing capacity.
