Meghan Rutledge wins at Coonabarabran

Meghan Rutledge’s Mother’s Day looked a little different to most this year, with it being spent at Goanna Tracks in Coonabarabran.

Rutledge was racing in the second round of the Northern New South Wales Ironman MX series.

Since Rutledge is quite familiar with the track, she was happy to test her ability in the ‘all-powers’ classes.

“This was a really cool event for me to be a part of seeing as I have been riding and training there for many years.

“I decided to enter both women’s, and they’re all powers classes so I had a little bit more track time, Meghan said.

On top of riding on familiar dirt, Rutledge also had the opportunity to race alongside a few riders that she previously taught.

“It was really cool to race so many kids that have turned pro that I have previously coached at that venue.

“Liam Jackson and Blake Fox just to name a couple,” she added.

“In the girls' event, I took the opportunity to ride around with [Alix Dray] one of the younger girls I have coached, who is like a little sister [to me].”

Rutledge ended up outrightly winning the Women’s class, and placing sixth in the all-powers class.
