Introduction to the Learner Approved Motorcycle Scheme (LAMS)

The first Learner Approved Motorcycles Scheme was instroduced by RTA NSW on the 6th September 2002, following on from this successful trial, other States and Territories have also introduced LAMS.
Currently there are slight variations in some states LAMS list, however the longer term plan is for all LAMS States and Territories use the same LAMS list based on the NSW LAMS list. This is the main reason for always checking the LAMS list in your home State or Territories for the latest information.
