2012 Vulcan 900 Classic

Big-Bike Appeal

The Vulcan 900 Classic takes its styling cues from its big brother, the Vulcan 1700 Classic. With long, low lines, seductively shaped bodywork, a low seat height and super-fat rear tyre, the Vulcan 900 has the presence of a much larger capacity cruiser combined with the rider-friendly handling traits you’d expect from a middleweight motorcycle.

Just one glance and you’ll appreciate the high build quality and craftsmanship for which Kawasaki cruisers are famous. This truly is middleweight cruising at its finest.

Electronic Fuel Injection

Dual throttle body fuel injection delivers silky smooth response and easy-to-control torque characteristics. The automotive-type fine-atomising injectors improve engine performance and fuel economy while keeping emissions to a minimum.

Mid-Sized Handler

Despite its big-bike presence, the Vulcan 900 Classic offers the type of agility and manoeuvrability you’d expect from a mid-sized cruiser. This, combined with class-leading horsepower, sees the VN900 out-performing many full-capacity cruisers.

Smooth Drive Train

The smooth-shifting five-speed transmission is geared for comfortable cruising at low rpm and features Kawasaki’s exclusive Positive Neutral Finder for easy neutral selection each and every time. Final drive is through a low-maintenance, super-quiet belt drive.

Strong, Usable Power

The Vulcan 900 Classic’s 903cm³ V-Twin engine boasts the highest power and torque output in the mid-sized class. Utilising a single-pin crankshaft for that meaty V-twin sound and feel, it delivers smooth, usable power throughout the low to mid rev-range.

Chrome and Rubber

Luscious chrome rims laced with spokes surround the Vulcan’s polished alloy hubs for that classic cruiser look. Adding to the Vulcan’s impression of size is the massive rear tyre – at 180mm it is wider than most large-displacement cruiser rear tires (including Kawasaki’s own Vulcan 1600!).

Big-Bike Styling

Long and low, with sleek curvaceous lines, the Vulcan 900 has a big-bike air about it that exudes quality and craftsmanship. From its voluptuous fuel tank to its glorious, wide fenders, the Vulcan 900 has a presence that belies its mid-sized weight and handling.
