The 2012 KX450F base package provides an excellent platform for experienced racers to win races in the top classes.

Complementing the race-winning performance of its predecessor’s highly acclaimed engine and nimble high-speed chassis, the 2012 KX450F adds numerous new factory-inspired features designed to give serious riders an edge on the track.

The MX industry’s first production-use Launch Control Mode, a new ECU with 3 easily selectable maps, and an adjustable riding position that riders can tailor to suit their size and riding style make the new KX450F an even more potent weapon on the track.

The combination is a proven race-winner, with Kawasaki racers regular podium finishers and Championship winners.

Engine Improvements

The 2012, revisions to the KX450F's piston, cams and exhaust system result in a wider powerband and performance increases at both ends of the rev range.

New Launch Control Mode

Activated at the push of a button in either N, 1st or 2nd gears, the factory style launch control system increases the chance of getting a good start by helping riders maximise traction when starting.

New Adjustable Handlebar Position

A choice of four positions allows riders to tailor their riding position. Factory-style Renthal handlebar and pad come standard.

New Factory Styling

Complementing the Lime Green "flow line" created by the fenders, minimalist shrouds and seat, factory-style graphics, black alumnite rims, black fork guards, blue alumnite finish on the suspension adjusters give the 2012 KX450F the looks to match its highly tuned performance.

New Setting Adjustable ECU

The lightweight ecu was designed specifically to withstand the rigors of motocross racing. Using the provided DFI couplers, riders can quickly and easily access their choice of 3 maps (standard, hard or soft) provided in the new ECU.

Slimmer Rider Interface

The slimmer new frame (4mm slimmer for 2012) new minimalist bodywork and a flatter tank-seat line offer a slimmer riding position and improved ergonomics, making it even easier for racers to go fast.

Revised Petal Disc Brakes

Revised front and rear petal disc brakes offer efficient braking performance. Rigid-mounted front disc offers reduced unsprung weight.

New Uni-Trak Rear Suspension

Linkage mounts below the swingarm for more precise suspension tuning. For 2012, less rigid tie-rod arms offer smoother action and improved bottoming resistance, which contributes to the improved rear wheel traction.

Factory Inspired Tuning

Works-base bridged-box bottom piston (unique Kawasaki feature used for the first time on a mass-production motocrosser on the MY10 KX450F) is just one of many features inspired by our factory racers.

New Adjustable Footpeg Position

On the 2012 KX450F, riders can choose from two footpeg postions to suit body size and preference.
