With more than 100mm of rain falling the night before, Hands-On Kawasaki’s Bryan Hands was less than optimistic of a big turn out for the forest ride. However when he turned up to the meeting spot in Wesburn and was greeted by the sight of more than 60 Kawasaki bikes and riders for the pre-ride Show and Shine, Bryan knew the day was going to be a good one.

With heavy rain fall the night before, the 120 kilometre forest ride became very challenging but also highly enjoyable. The ride stopped by the Reefton Hotel outside Warburton where many stories were told and many refreshments consumed before riders headed back through the forest to Wesburn.
Troy Carroll says, “That was the most fun I’ve had on a dirt bike in 15 years. It was one of those days I’ll never forget.
On the way back, I had the fire in the belly, the urge to go fast so I grabbed some of the quick locals and we got on it. We were hauling then I lost the front end on a wet down hill and all I could see was grass, dirt, daylight and mud and I couldn’t stop laughing as I slid down the hill on my back, I looked back and my bike was wedged half way up a tree. I’d like to give a massive thanks to Bryan Hands from Hands-On Kawasaki and all of the people that assisted with the ride for such a great day.”
Hands-On Kawasaki Dealership Principal and Day On The Green organiser, Bryan Hands, was delighted with the day’s success saying, “I wanted people to feel like they were part of something special and we achieved that with the 1st ever Day On the Green Ride.
What should have been an easy, pleasant trail ride turned into hell track after the rain so a big congratulations to everybody for getting through. The conditions were a testament to the reliability of the Kawasakis. The day would not have been possible without the help of the Motorcycle Racing Club of Victoria, especially Lee “The Destroyer” Ebdon, Monster Energy and Castrol and also the Reefton Hotel who greeted us with open arms. I’d like to say a big thank you to everybody who attended especially our special guests Troy Carroll and Todd Kelly.”
