Major upgrades to the new model include but are by no means limited to a new slimmer rider interface and flatter tank-seat line, revised ECU settings and 3x interchangeable EFI couplers with pre-set maps for varying conditions, wider and straighter intake for even higher RPM, revised SFF (Separate Function front Fork), new minimalist shrouds and new factory inspired black rear guard, easier engine tuning capabilities and the same internal engine construction as used by Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki factory racers.

The Kawasaki KX450F has won numerous championships of late including the 2011 AMA MX and SX titles and the 2012 AMA SX championship. For 2013, the new KX450F receives such improvements as a more powerful engine thanks to a revised piston crown and ECU settings, next generation PSF (Pneumatic Spring Fork), new front brake master cylinder and brake pads for stronger braking performance, wider hand grips, revised engine and ECU tuning for stronger ultra low-mid range performance and new styling that includes a new front guard design and new white rear guard.
