Cycle World magazine in the USA put three of the latest “naked” sport bikes to the test in their “Let There Be ROCK!” shootout and concluded that from handling to power, and even all-out sport riding, the Kawasaki Z1000 is the clear winner.

Here is what the editors at Cycle World had to say about the Z1000:

“If you combine the trouncing the Kawasaki delivered at the drag strip, its solid back-road handling, its fair degree of everyday civility and overall performance value, the Z would be an easy choice if it were my wallet cracking open....”

“Upper revs are clearly the Z1000’s domain, where it maintains a good 15 ponies over the Honda and leaves the Triumph tripping on its 9500-rpm rev limiter thanks to the Z-bike’s additional 1500 rpm of sizzling top-end performance.”

“The Z’s mirrors are the most functional, being blur-free and the least obstructed by the rider’s arms and shoulders.”

“I can see how really fast riders will like the Kawasaki—the grunt, the steering feel, the taut-but-not-too-taut suspension...”
