Meghan Rutledge Wins Her First Race in the USA

Written by

Kawasaki’s Meghan Rutledge appears to be getting as much rest and relaxation on her “holiday” in California, USA as we expected….Zero.

After becoming slightly disillusioned with Disneyland in Anaheim (how does one compare Space Mountain to racing Super X?), the Australian Female MX Champion headed straight to Kawasaki USA where Reid Nordin, Senior Manager of Kawasaki Racing hooked her up with a Monster Energy Kawasaki race KX250F to borrow.

In a few short days, Meg has already clocked up numerous practice laps on some of the greatest MX tracks the motocross rich state of California has to offer like Milestone, Lake Elsinore and Glen Helen.

Having gotten a taste of MX USA style, the Monster Energy sponsored rider then entered into a round of the TWMX race series at the Competitive Edge track. Doing nothing by halves, Meg entered into both the Women’s and School Boys classes and came away with impressive results.

Meg hole-shot and won all four Women’s class races to take the win on both days and took two hole-shots on her way to 3-DNF-3-3 results in the School Boys class.

With a load of added experience under her belt and some handy contacts made in the USA, Meghan is looking forward to returning to Australia this month for a home-cooked meal.

As NRL star, Nathan Hindmarsh, takes to the field tonight in the Parramatta Eels 2012 season opener, few will know that Hindy’s pre-season training included pounding out laps at Mt Kembla MX Track under the watchful eye of “specialist” coach, Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Jay Marmont.

Second consecutive win marks successful marriage of Pastorello and Kawasaki.

The 2012 Kawasaki KX250F has won the 2012 Australasian Dirt Bike Magazine 250 MX Shootout.
