With no bike time under his belt since last weekend’s round 4, Jay Marmont was healthier and his injured left knee was much stronger heading to

Dylan Peterson also had no time onboard his KX450F during the week, instead he rested his injured knee and tried to alleviate the fluid build-up. Unable to get his knee right before Murray Bridge, Peterson was unable to continue the momentum he’s been gathering since riding for injured Monster Energy Kawasaki rider Billy Mackenzie and could only manage mid pack finishes in the first two motos before sitting out the final race. Dylan Peterson currently sits in 13th place in the championship.

MX2 rider Kade Mosig struggled with tough starts throughout all three motos and with passing quite difficult on the heavily rutted track, Mosig’s results suffered. In the second moto where he got his best start, Mosig raced the majority of the moto in 2nd place before being pipped at the post. Mosig’s 13-3-10 results left him in 8th place for the round. Although he had a tough round 5, Kade Mosig currently sits in 5th place in the championship, just 25 points shy of the top three.

The Monster Energy Kawasaki riders welcome a 5 week rest so they can regroup and get healthy before the second half of the 2012 Monster Energy MX Nationals kicks off at

Jay Marmont: “I definitely could’ve done without the DNF. Overall I’m glad just to get through the day. I feel like I need a break now, I can finally go and get my knee right and fix my body up. The doctors seem to think that 4-6 weeks will be enough for it to be fully healed. I just need a break so this break couldn’t have come at a better time. I’ll be able to finish off the second half of the series painless and have some fun with it”.
“I know I’m good enough to win, that’s why the number one plate’s on my bike. I just want to go out there and ride to my full potential and ride to win, not just make up positions. I need to go out there and make it happen.”

Dylan Peterson: “I went out in practise and every time I’d try to put in a good lap I’d bang my knee. Then in the first race I crashed and landed on it, second race I crashed and landed on it again. We’ve got the 5 week break now so I’ll go into rehab and come out swinging at
