Wearing his impressive new 2013 Fly Racing gear at Hervey Bay, MX2 rider Kade Mosig got his weekend off to a brilliant start qualifying his KX250F in 3rd place, his best qualifying result of the season. He kept the momentum going when the gates dropped for moto 1, getting off to a great start and quickly finding 3rd place. From there he battled through to second place and looked on track for the moto win if he didn’t run out of laps.

Mosig didn’t get the start he wanted in the second moto and had to settle for 4th place. In the last moto on the back of a 5th place start he battled through to 3rd place before a crash relegated him to the back of the pack. Mosig pushed hard to find 7th place however another crash put him back to 11th where he finished the race. Mosig finished the round in 4th place with 2-4-11 results.
Although small mistakes in the final moto cost Kade Mosig a certain podium for the day, the Monster Energy Kawasaki rider is fast and on track for a strong second half to the 2012 MX season.

Kade Mosig say’s, “I took a big step forward this round. I qualified the best I have all year and we’re making really good progress with the KX250F. I could have done without those two crashes in the final moto. The track was pretty gnarly and I caught my feet in one of the ruts and got ripped off the bike. Then in the second crash I landed on my thigh which already had muscle damage from a practice crash during the week but overall I feel everything is improving and I know that a win is coming.”

MX1 rider Dylan Peterson rode well on board the injured Billy Mackenzie’s KX450F to finish the round in 9th place (8-13-8). Two top ten moto finishes helped secure Peterson the top ten finish for the round. Consistent top ten round finishes on a National level is an outstanding achievement for Dylan Peterson who works a fulltime job during the week.

Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Manager Troy Carroll say’s, “This was a positive weekend. It was a definitely a step forward for Kade even though the results don’t show it. We’re looking forward to having Jay back next round and Billy back the round after that and with a full team again we’ll look forward to finishing the season on a winning note.”
