With a 7 week hiatus from riding and only a few days back on board his Kawasaki KX450F before lining up at Horsham, defending champion Jay Marmont showed real strength to post 3 solid moto results for 6th overall. Proving that precious race time on board his KX450F will make the difference, Marmont achieved his best result in the final grueling 30 minute moto. Marmont posted 6-7-4 results for 6th overall for the round. Marmont’s championship standing took a hit when he was forced to sit out the previous round and he currently sits in 7th place. He is now looking to narrow the gap between himself and the series leader by as much as he can in the remaining 3 rounds and finish the series on a high.

Jay Marmont say’s, “It was good to get back in the saddle. The first two races weren’t the best. The last race was a good one though. I got off to a mediocre start, overtook some guys and finished 4th so I was happy with that. The Monster Energy Kawasaki was working awesome today so I’m really looking forward to getting out there at Appin and try and get a round win at my home race.”

MX2 rider Kade Mosig got the round off to a cracking start by promptly qualifying his KX250F in pole position. Less than perfect starts however meant Mosig had to play catch up on a very boggy and muddy Horsham track. Mosig posted consistent top 5 results throughout the three motos however it just wasn’t enough for a podium with the 22 year old just missing out. Mosig came away with 4-5-3 results for 4th place overall. He currently sits in 4th place in the Championship.

Kade Mosig say’s, “We’re improving week by week but this 4th place is hard to swallow. I’ve been working my butt off and the whole team’s been working their butts off and we’re getting there. I don’t think it’s too late. We’re still well and truly in the championship. We just need to keep working hard and keep chipping away at it.”

Jay Marmont and Kade Mosig weren’t the only stars of the show in the Monster Energy Kawasaki pits at Horsham. The recently released 2013 KX250F and highly anticipated and unreleased 2013 KX450F were both on display and drew many keen spectators and much interest throughout the whole day.
With Jay Marmont being able to get that much needed bike time before the next round and the welcome return of his MX1 team mate, Billy Mackenzie, back to the team, Monster Energy Kawasaki are confident of a successful 8th round at Appin, NSW on 29 July.
