18 year old Luke was the dominant rider in the class all series, winning all 5 rounds of the championship on-board his Ninja 250R. Luke took 1-2-2 results at the final round at QLD to win the round and the championship. Luke won the championship with a large 56 point buffer.
The 5th and final round of the series saw the Kawasaki Ninja 250R on all three steps of the podium with Queenslander Jack Baker (son of Crazy Dogs Kawasaki Dealership Principal Richard Baker) taking 2nd place and South Australian

With a load of National and State dirt track titles under his belt (all won on Kawasaki KX motorcycles), Luke Burgess was excited to claim his first National road race title, saying, “This is a great result for myself, Mackay Kawasaki and Kawasaki Australia. Whatever rule changes they threw at us this season, the Ninja 250R still came out on top every time. I’m so happy to be the Australian champion and win a National road race title.”
