Top 5 Result for Empire Motorsport at AORC RD1-2

Promising young Empire Motorsport racer, Will Price, has opened his 2022 Australian Off-Road Championship (AORC) account with a solid showing in the first two rounds of the series at Cherrabah, QLD, over the weekend.

The extremely technical Sprint tracks tested all of the country’s fastest racers, but the 21-year-old and his Kawasaki KX250X battled to fifth in the competitive E1 class on Saturday.

During Sunday’s second round, the Victorian-based Price faced a tougher time, getting stuck in two huge bog-holes, and losing further time when a clipped rock pushed his chain guide into his sprocket.

Still, Price pressed on for seventh position in the E1 category and Empire Kawasaki off-road team manager Stelios Liakopoulos is confident we will see progression in the coming rounds.

“For Empire Motorsport's first-ever showing at the AORC, we’re happy to have set a good platform for the rest of the series,” Liakopoulos reflected. "The conditions the riders faced at Cherrabah were challenging at best.

“Will’s top five on Saturday is a personal best for him and we’ll continue to develop the bike and rider as the year progresses, with the aim of achieving top three class finishes at the coming rounds.

“Considering our limited time to prepare the Empire Motorsport team for the AORC, we’re happy to come away with some good points, injury-free and with plenty of knowledge of how to improve our operation in time for Mackay.”

Rounds three and four of the AORC will be held in Mackay, QLD, from 8-9 April, where the riders will face enduro formats over the two days of racing.
